Agenda
공학관 5층 22동의 테라스와 홀, 건축도서관은 가까이 위치하지만 상호작용이 이루어지지 않는 개별적인 공간이다. 테라스는 스프레이 부스로 이용되고, 건축도서관은 이용자들을 유도하기 힘든 상황이다. 공간의 연결성을 강화하기 위해 22동 5층과 6층에 걸친 리모델링을 진행하였다.
The terrace, hall, and architectural library located in the center of 5th floor of the engineering building, are not interacting but used as individual spaces. The terrace is used as a spray booth, and the library hardly induces users. In order to strengthen the connectivity of the space, remodeling project was conducted.
Program
기존에 5층에서 6층으로 가는 계단 대신 스탠드형 계단을 만들었다.
A stand-type staircase was designed instead of the existing stairs from 5th to the 6th floor.
스탠드형 계단은 개방형 도서관과 연계하여 책을 읽는 공간으로, 홀과 연계하여 발표와 크리틱이 이루어지는 공간도 될 수 있다. 때로는 앉아서 커피를 마실 수 있는 휴식공간으로도 이용될 수도 있다.
Stand-type staircase can be used for reading in connection with an open library, or presentations in connection with the hall. Sometimes it can be a resting place for sitting and drinking coffee.
건축도서관은 복도를 지나가는 사람들이 접근하기 쉽게 공간을 열어놓았다.
The architectural library left the space open for people passing through the hallway to access.
개방형 도서관을 선호하지 않는 이용자들은 스탠드 우측에 있는 통로를 통해 계단 뒤편의 전이공간으로 이동하여 조용한 환경에서 독서를 할 수 있다.
Users who do not prefer open libraries can read in a quiet environment by moving to the transition space behind the stairs through the passage on the right side of the stand.
스탠드를 이용해 6층으로 이동하면 휴게공간이 나온다.
If you use the stand to go to the 6th floor, you will find a rest area.
휴게공간을 지나 동측 창가 쪽 복도를 통해 테라스로 이동할 수 있다. 홀 방향으로 있는 창은 계단 이용자들에게 공간의 개방감을 더해주는 역할을 한다. 한쪽으로 열려 있던 기존의 테라스와 달리 동서 쪽으로 공간을 모두 열어 개방감을 더해주었다.
You can pass the rest area and go to the terrace through the corridor by the window on the east side. The window in the direction of the hall plays a role in adding a sense of openness to the staircase users. Unlike the existing terrace, which was opened to one side, all spaces were opened to the east and west to add a sense of openness.
