업무의 효율을 높일 수 있는 창의적 업무 환경과 휴식 공간이 결합된 문화시설을 제안한다. 업무공간은 업무의 생산성과 효율성을 추구하는 동시에, 휴식공간은 다양한 사회적 교류가 촉진되어 도시 내 다양한 계층과 집단 간의 연결과 협력이 강화된다. 이를 통해 업무적인 측면과 문화적인 측면 모두에서 시너지를 창출한다.
I propose a cultural facility that combines a creative work environment with spaces for rest, aiming to enhance operational efficiency. While the workspace pursues productivity and efficiency, the rest areas foster social interaction, strengthening connections and collaboration among diverse groups and communities within the city. This integration generates synergy in both professional and cultural dimensions.

성수동은 과거 산업지구에서 발전하여 현재는 문화와 예술의 중심지로 변화했지만, 동시에 산업 뉴타운으로 지정되어 지식산업센터가 밀집한 지역이기도 하다. 창의적인 업무 스페이스와 문화시설이 성수동의 트렌디한 이미지를 형성하는 한편, 다양한 산업 및 스타트업들이 지식산업센터를 중심으로 활발히 활동하고 있다. 이러한 성수동은 문화와 산업이 공존하는 다채로운 지역이다.
Seongsu-dong has evolved from a former industrial district into a vibrant hub of culture and the arts, while simultaneously being designated as an industrial new town, densely populated with knowledge-based industry centers. Creative workspaces and cultural facilities shape its trendy image, while various industries and startups actively operate around these knowledge industry hubs. In this way, Seongsu-dong is a multifaceted area where culture and industry coexist.
Design
형태로 드러나는 프로그램의 성격
공연장과 전시장의 기능적인 형태는 그 고유의 프로그램을 사람들에게 표출하고, 많은 사람들이 드나드는 열린 공간임을 보여준다. 반면, 상부의 아티스트 스튜디오는 모서리가 비스듬히 깎인 형태로 표현되어, 예술가의 창작 활동처럼 개별적이고 자유로운 성격을 보여준다. 이렇게 각 공간은 쓰임에 따라 다른 형태를 가지고 있고, 그 자체로 어떤 공간인지 자연스럽게 말해준다.
The character of each program is revealed through its form.
The functional forms of the performance hall and exhibition space express their specific programs, signaling that these are open areas frequented by many people. In contrast, the artist studios on the upper levels are shaped with beveled corners, reflecting the individualistic and free-spirited nature of artistic creation. Each space thus takes on a distinct form according to its function, naturally conveying its purpose through its architecture.
분절과 연결, 그리고 프로그램의 수직적 구성
두 개의 매스는 각각 업무와 문화 프로그램을 중심으로 구성되며, 사이에 삽입된 계단 브릿지는 이질적인 공간들을 분리하면서도 유기적으로 연결한다. 이 계단 구조는 수직 이동 동선일 뿐 아니라, 업무와 문화 사이의 관계를 조절하는 매개체로 작동한다. 하단의 극장과 전시장부터 상부의 오피스와 아틀리에까지, 층별 프로그램이 명확히 분리되면서도 계단 브릿지를 통한 교차적 사용이 가능하다.
Segmentation, Connection, and the Vertical Organization of Programs
The two masses are organized around distinct programs—work and culture—while a staircase bridge inserted between them separates these heterogeneous spaces yet connects them organically. This stair structure functions not only as a means of vertical circulation, but also as a mediator that negotiates the relationship between work and culture. From the theater and exhibition hall on the lower levels to the offices and ateliers above, each floor hosts a clearly defined program, while the stair bridge allows for cross-use and interaction between them.

공연장, 아티스트 스튜디오, 그리고 오피스는 각각 고유한 기능과 역할을 수행하며 독립된 정체성을 지닌다. 이들은 단순한 공간 배치를 넘어서 각 프로그램의 특성을 조형적으로 드러내어 독창적인 건축적 요소를 강조한다. 이러한 개별 매스들은 브릿지로 유기적으로 연결되어 상호 작용을 촉진한다. 이를 통해 이 건물은 업무와 예술이 융합된 문화 공간으로서의 역할을 수행한다.
Creating a New Flow Through the Integration of Culture and Work
The performance hall, artist studios, and offices each serve distinct functions and possess their own independent identities. Beyond mere spatial arrangement, their architectural forms reflect the unique nature of each program, emphasizing expressive and original design elements. These separate masses are organically connected through bridges, encouraging interaction and flow. As a result, the building functions as a cultural space where work and art are seamlessly integrated.
