오스모시스 강릉은 국내 관광지의 천편일률적인 패턴에서 벗어나 ‘다르게 휴식하는 방법’에 관한 고민을 담은 리조트 개발 프로젝트입니다. 지난 60여 년간 군 해안 경계로 일반인의 출입이 금지되었던 강릉 연곡 해변의 보존된 자연환경, 그리고 강릉의 고유한 개성에 기반한 특색 있는 프로그램을 담았습니다. 로컬의 매력에 자연스럽게 스며들어 온전한 휴식이 가능한 지역 친화적 리조트 개발을 제안합니다.
What should a resort look like when it offers the chance to step away from daily life and experience complete rest?
Osmosis Gangneung is a resort development project that explores “a different way to rest,” breaking away from the monotonous patterns often found in domestic tourist destinations. It incorporates distinctive programs inspired by the preserved natural environment of Yeongok Beach—closed to the public for more than 60 years as a military coastal boundary—and by the unique character of Gangneung. The project proposes a locally rooted resort that blends naturally with the charm of its surroundings, offering a place for genuine, restorative rest.
Concept
오스모시스 강릉은 고유한 장소성과 지역성을 담아, 계절의 흐름을 오감으로 경험하는 리조트 문화를 제안합니다. 상업적 측면에 치우쳐 획일적인 공간과 콘텐츠를 답습하는 기존 럭셔리 리조트를 넘어, 머무는 이들에게 자연과 하나 되는 특별한 경험을 제공합니다.
강릉의 연곡 해변과 소나무 숲이 어우러진 자연환경 속에서 다양한 액티비티를 즐기고, 천연 온천수를 활용한 퍼블릭 스파를 통해 완벽한 휴식과 회복이 이루어지는 해변 리조트입니다. 바다에서 숲으로 이어지는 여정, 그리고 다채로운 경험이 스며드는 복합 리조트 오스모시스에서의 시간은 삶을 한층 더 풍요롭게 합니다.
Osmosis Gangneung embraces the unique character of its setting, offering a resort experience where the changing seasons can be felt with all five senses. Breaking away from conventional luxury resorts that often replicate uniform spaces and commercially driven content, it provides guests with the rare opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Nestled between Yeongok Beach and its surrounding pine forests, the resort invites visitors to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities and to unwind completely in a public spa fed by natural hot springs. Strategy
리조트는 세 개의 존(Zone)으로 구성되어 있으며, 방문객의 특성에 따라 접근성을 달리했습니다. 가장 낮은 레벨에 위치한 Zone 1에는 연곡 해변을 이용하는 사람들이 비치 하우스를 통해 자연스럽게 유입됩니다. 이어지는 Zone2에는 일반 방문객과 투숙객 모두 이용할 수 있는 퍼블릭 스파와 수영장이 있으며, 마지막으로 Zone 3에는 투숙객 전용 콘도를 배치하여 점점 프라이빗한 경험으로 이어지는 구조를 만들었습니다.
이러한 단계적 접근 구조는 숙박을 하지 않더라도 스파나 풀을 경험한 방문객이 긍정적인 기억을 바탕으로 이후 투숙객으로 전환될 수 있는 가능성을 열어줍니다. 이는 장기적으로 보았을 때 지속 가능한 리조트 운영 전략이 됩니다.
The resort is organized into three zones, each designed with different levels of accessibility to match the needs of its visitors. Zone 1, located at the lowest level, connects directly to Yeongok Beach, allowing beachgoers to flow naturally into the resort through the beach house. Moving up to Zone 2, both day visitors and staying guests can enjoy the public spa and swimming pool. Finally, Zone 3 is reserved exclusively for resort guests, where private condominiums provide a more secluded and intimate experience.
This step-by-step progression—from open public areas to private guest spaces—not only enriches the visitor journey but also encourages day users of the spa or pool to return as overnight guests in the future. In the long term, this spatial strategy establishes a sustainable model for resort operations.

동해의 맑은 바다와 소나무 숲이 어우러진 강릉의 장소성과 지역성을 바탕으로 다양한 야외 체험 프로그램을 제공합니다. 서핑 클래스, 스쿠버다이빙과 같은 해양 레포츠는 물론, 아웃도어 브랜드와 협업한 캠핑 공간과 70km에 이르는 사이클링 코스를 통해 관광 인프라를 확대합니다.
Rooted in the natural setting of Gangneung—where the clear waters of the East Sea meet pine forests—our outdoor programs invite guests to experience the region’s unique character. Beyond surfing classes and scuba diving, the resort offers camping spaces in collaboration with leading outdoor brands and a 70-kilometer cycling course, expanding the area’s tourism infrastructure and creating diverse ways to explore the landscape.

천연 온천수를 활용한 강릉 최대 규모의 퍼블릭 스파는 물과 온기 속에서 완전한 회복을 경험할 수 있는 치유의 공간입니다. 탁 트인 전망과 함께 누구나 즐길 수 있는 스파와 수영장을 제공합니다.
Fed by natural hot springs, Gangneung’s largest public spa provides a restorative space where guests can experience complete relaxation in warmth and water. With wide-open views, the spa and swimming pool are designed as inclusive facilities that everyone can enjoy.
03 Stay
해변과 인접한 빌리지형 상업 시설은 지역 문화 콘텐츠를 재해석하여 강릉의 특산품 먹거리와 유명 브랜드를 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 동해 바다를 향해 열린 인피티니 풀과 단지 중앙의 녹지 광장, 그리고 파인다이닝과 같은 부대 시설은 머무는 시간을 더욱 특별하게 만듭니다. 마지막으로, 리조트는 연곡 해변과 연곡천을 조망할 수 있는 타워형 세대와 단 한 가족만을 위한 독체형 세대로 구성되어 다양한 체류 경험을 제공합니다.
Village-style retail areas adjacent to the beach reinterpret local cultural content, offering opportunities to discover Gangneung’s specialties alongside well-known brands.
