Background

실버케어센터가 들어설 본 대상지는 사회적으로 이슈가 많은 지역이다. 대단지 주거지역에 거주하는 주민들의 반발은 현 사회가 아직까지 요양시설을 기피시설로 인지하고 있다는 의미다. 많은 이유가 있겠으나, 아직까지도 대다수 요양시설이 폐쇄적이며 일반인에게는 필요가치가 없는 장소라고 여겨지기 때문일 것이다. 하지만 요양시설의 주 이용자인 어르신들이 곧 지역주민이며, 요양시설 또한 지역사회가 품어야하는 시설이다. 그렇다면 요양시설이 가지는 특수기능을 포함하면서 일반인이 접하기 쉬운 공간은 어떻게 계획되어야 할 것인가? 우리의 제안인 <Boundless Boundary : 경계없는 경계> 는 공간적 요소인 경사로를 통해 복지관/지역주민/어르신 각각의 영역성(경계)을 가짐과 동시에, 물리적 경계를 허무는 것을 계획하고자 한다. 나아가 요양시설이 가지는 기능을 충족시키면서, 지역주민들과 하나될 수 있는 장소로 탈바꿈된다.

The site where the Elderly Care Center will be established is an area with many social issues. Residents’ resentment of the large complex means that the current society still recognizes nursing facilities as evasion facilities. There may be many reasons, but it is probably because most of the nursing homes are still considered closed and have no need for the general public. However, seniors who are the main users of nursing facilities are also local residents, and nursing facilities are also facilities that the community should contain. Then, how should the space that is accessible to the general public be included with the special functions of the nursing facility? Our proposal, Boundless Boundary, intends to plan for breaking the physical boundary while having the territoriality (boundary) of each users of the welfare center, local residents, elderly through the slope, which is a architectural element. Furthermore, while satisfying the functions of the nursing facility, it is transformed into a place where you can become one with local residents.
