Introduction : The New Student Union In the Old SKKU Campus
많은 사람들이 매일 그리고 매번 학생회관을 사용하고 방문합니다. 캠퍼스의 중심점에 위치하고 있지만, 복지회관와 도서관을 연결하는 관문으로서는 잘 작동하고 있지 않습니다. The Wave는 이러한 문제를 해결하고 학생회를 캠퍼스의 더 나은 중심점으로 만들기 위한 디자인입니다.
Many people use and visit student union everyday and every time. But, it doesn’t work well as a center point of SKKU campus and the main gateway crossing welfare center and library. So, I designed new waves to solve these problems and make the student union as a better center point of the campus.
Campus
위 다이어그램에서 빨간색 점은 사람들의 순환을 보여줍니다. 보시다시피 SKKU 캠퍼스에는 사람들이 모이는 몇 개의 중앙 노드가 있으며 학생회관은 이러한 노드 중 하나입니다.
The red dots in the above diagram shows the circulation of people. As you can see from the density of those dots. There is the centeral node in the SKKU campus and the student union is a part of this node.
History of the building
디자인은 기존 건물에 대한 이해에서 시작되었습니다. 캠퍼스의 중심점이지만 잘 작동하지 않고 있는 상태의 기존 건물에는 몇 가지 문제가 있었습니다. 리노베이션 프로젝트를 통해 이러한 것들을 개선하고 싶었습니다.
Started from the understanding of the original building. It is a kind of the center point of the campus, but, it doesn’t work well and the building has several problems. I want to improve these things through a renovation project.
Process
Design
디자인에 있어서 주요한 관점은 건물의 보존 된 구조에 새로운 물결을 만드는 것이었습니다. 파도는 건물의 기존 상태를 개선하기 위해 기존의 학생회관 건물을 관통하여 학생과 방문객을 위한 다양한 공간을 제공합니다.
The main point of modification is making the new wave on the preserved structure of the building. The wave penetrates the original student union building to improve the existing condition of the building. It makes various spaces for students and visitors.
