Agenda
주택 설계는 다른 건물보다 이용자에 대한 고민이 더욱 중요하다고 생각한다. 이 주택의 건축주를 YB밴드의 윤도현씨와 그의 가족으로 설정했기 때문에, 이 주택은 윤도현씨의 가족을 위한 요구와 그의 직업인 음악인을 위한 요구를 조화롭게 담아야 했다. 그렇기 때문에 이 주택은 두 개의 상반된 프로그램을 위한 두 개의 공간을 중심으로 구성되었다 : 가족을 위한 집 그리고 YB의 음악 작업실. 건축주의 가족과 건축주의 직업 모두를 담아낼 수 있는 주택을 고민하며 설계를 진행해 나갔다. 두 프로그램을 적절히 연결하면서도 주택의 기본에 충실한 주택을 제안하고자 했다.
When designing a residential building, the considerations regarding its users hold paramount importance compared to other types of structures. In this particular case, the homeowner was Yoon Do Hyun of YB Band and his family. Consequently, the house had to cater to the specific needs of both his family life and his profession as a singer. This challenge led to the design being centered around two distinct yet essential requirements: creating a comfortable and private home for Yoon’s family while simultaneously accommodating the demands of a music studio for the rock band YB. The design process focused on crafting a house that seamlessly integrates the needs of both the homeowner’s family life and professional pursuits.
Analysis
이 주택에는 그의 가족에 대한 요구와 그의 직업인 가수에 대한 요구를 담고자 했다. 이는 가족을 위한 공간과 음악 작업을 위한 공간이 필요함을 뜻했다. 하지만, 거주자의 쾌적한 거주 환경을 위해 두 공간은 적절히 분리되어야 했다. 가족이 생활하는 사적인 영역과 외부 방문객이 잦은 작업실의 영역은 구분이 필요하다. 또한, 건축주는 음악 작업을 주로 하기 때문에 주거 공간과 작업 공간은 동선 분리도 필요하지만, 소음과 시선의 차단도 필요했다. 두 가지 요구는 남-북으로 긴 형상을 활용해 조화롭게 배치할 수 있었다.
The house was designed to accommodate the requirements of both Yoon Dohyeon’s family and his profession as a singer. This meant creating dedicated spaces for family life and music studio. However, to ensure the residents’ comfort, it was crucial to properly divide these two spaces. A clear distinction was necessary between the private family living space and the studio area, which often hosted various external visitors. Given Mr. Yoon’s primary focus is on music production and recording, it was essential to separate the residential and working spaces not only in terms of circulation but also acoustically and visually. Fortunately, the distinct demands of the owner could be appropriately addressed by utilizing the elongated shape of the plot, stretching from north to south, to create effective separation.
일월저수지의 서쪽에 위치하며 남-북으로 긴 형태의 대지는 남향의 채광에는 어려움이 있으나, 모든 곳에서 일월저수지를 바라볼 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 지형적 특성은 서쪽이 동쪽보다 2m 정도 높은 점이 있었다. 그래서 주택의 매스 형상은 대지의 제약과 강점에 따라서 자연스럽게 유도되었다. 볕이 잘 들고 넓은 남쪽은 가족을 위한 아늑한 주택이, 좁고 채광이 상대적으로 어려운 북쪽은 작업실과 합주실이 있는 밴드를 위한 공간이 배치되었다.
Situated on the western side of the Ilwol Reservoir, the site, which is narrow and elongated from south to north, posed challenges in terms of maximizing sunlight exposure. However, it offered the unique advantage of providing panoramic views of the Ilwol Reservoir from every vantage point. Additionally, the plot exhibited a height difference of approximately 2 meters, with the west being higher than the east. Consequently, the massing of the structure was naturally shaped in response to the site’s specific conditions.
Design
- 긴 대지의 특성상 주 마당을 가장 유용하게 활용할 수 있도록 형상이 자연스럽게 정해진다.
- 지상층의 매스의 분절을 통해 개인작업실-주거공간-스튜디오가 구분이 된다. 또한 대지의 고저차를 활용한 스탠드 계단과 테라스를 디자인했다.
- 1층에서 분절된 매스들을 연결해주는 2개의 매스를 2층에 배치하여 건물 전체의 시각적, 동선적 연결을 만들어낸다.
- 작업공간은 주거공간과 구별이 필요하기 때문에 형태적인 연결을 유지하나 공간적인 연결은 끊어주어 편안한 공간이 되도록 한다.
- 1층의 3개의 분절된 매스의 표현을 위해, 그리고 공간의 층고의 다양화를 위해 3개의 매스를 수직으로 확장한다
- 동쪽 도로에 마주한 면의 사생활 보호와 수평의 매스의 강조와 구분을 위해 수직 루버로 감싸준다.
- The design of the building is determined by the elongated shape of the plot, ensuring the main yard is optimally utilized for maximum functionality.
- The ground floor features segmented masses to distinguish private workshops, residential spaces, and the YB studio. An outdoor stair in the yard take advantage of the plot’s level difference, enhances cohesion throughout the spaces.
- Two masses connecting the divided areas on the ground floor are strategically placed on the first floor, establishing a visual and dynamic connection across the entire building.
- To spatially separate the studio space from residential areas, a morphological connection is maintained while spatial connections are severed, creating a comfortable and distinct environment.
- Three vertically extruded masses are integrated to express the segmented masses on the ground floor, contributing to the diversification of floor heights within the space.
- The horizontal mass facing the eastern road is enveloped with vertical louvers, ensuring user privacy and emphasizing the dynamic interplay with the central mass that stretches through.
