노래를 듣다가 문득 피아노 건반을 누르는 장면이 떠올랐다. 피아노 건반을 누를 때 아래로 내려왔다 다시 올라오는 궤적은 공기를 진동시켜 음파를 만들어낸다. 눈으로 볼 수 없는 움직임은 우리의 귀에 아름다운 소리를 전달한다.
그렇다면 눈에 보이지 않는 이 움직임을 공간으로 만들어낼 수 있을까?
하얀 건반이 내려갔다가 올라오며 만들어내는 소리의 물결이 그대로 커져 사람이 직접 경험할 수 있는 공간이 된다면 어떨까. 사람들은 그 아래를 탐험하고, 곡면을 따라 올라가기도 하며, 위에 앉아 머무를 수도 있다. 음악을 단순히 귀로 듣는 것이 아니라, 눈으로 보고 몸으로 느낄 수 있는 공간을 만드는 것. 이 프로젝트는 이러한 생각에서 출발했다.
While listening to music, I found myself thinking about the movement of a piano key. As a piano key is pressed down and rises back up, it creates a trajectory that sets the air in motion, generating sound waves. Although this movement is invisible to the eye, it delivers beautiful music to our ears.
What if this invisible movement could be transformed into space?
What if the waves created by the motion of a white piano key could be enlarged into a space that people could physically experience? People could explore beneath it, climb along its curved surfaces, or sit on top of it. Rather than simply hearing music, they could see it and experience it through space. This project began with that idea.
