Agenda

테헤란로는 1980년대 중심상업, 업무지역으로 지정된 이후 1990년대부터 대기업과 금융기관 등 대규모 오피스 빌딩가가 형성되었다. 그에 따라 테헤란로는 삭막한 회색빛 도시의 대표적인 예시가 되었다. 최근, 건물과 자동차를 위한 도시가 아닌 ‘사람’을 위한 도시로 탈바꿈 하기 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 특히 인근에 위치한 선정릉을 비롯한 외부공간을 잘 활용한 휴게시설을 제공하는 문화도시를 구현하는 것이 핵심이다. 그러나 테헤란로에 위치한 문화 공간들을 이어주는 장치가 없어 그 효과가 미미하게 나타나고 있다. 테헤란로 속의 많은 문화 시설을 복합적으로 이어줄 수 있는 프로그램으로 다른 문화 예술과의 융합 및 전환이 유연한 ‘웹툰’을 생각해냈고, 테헤란로의 문화 확산의 중심이 되는 네이버 웹툰 사옥을 짓기로 결정했다.

Since Teheran-ro was designated as a central commercial and business area in the 1980s, large-scale office buildings such as major companies and financial institutions have been formed since the 1990s. As a result, Teheran-ro became a prime example of a stark gray city. In order to transform it into a city for “people” rather than a city that exists for buildings and cars, efforts are being made to realize a cultural city by providing rest facilities using nearby Seonjeongneung Royal Tombs and external spaces. However, the effect is minimal because there is no device to connect the cultural spaces located in Teheran-ro. As a program that can connect many cultural facilities in Teheran-ro, I came up with a “Webtoon” that is flexible in fusion and conversion with other cultural arts, and decided to build a Naver webtoon office building, which is the center of cultural spread in Teheran-ro.

Concept

사이트 근처에는 문화복합시설인 코엑스, 현대백화점, 그리고 소규모의 극장 및 아트홀들이 곳곳에 분포해 있다. 다양한 장르가 존재하는 웹툰의 특성 상 해당 위치에 사옥이 들어서게 된다면, 여러 다른 문화들이 웹툰을 통해 융합되어 인터넷, 전시 등을 통해 문화의 확산이 이루어지게 될 것이다.

Near this site, cultural complexes such as COEX, Hyundai Department Store, and small theaters and art halls are distributed throughout. Due to the nature of webtoons that exists various genres, if the office building is built in that location, various cultures will be fused through webtoons, and culture will spread through the Internet and exhibitions.

Mass Process

웹툰의 특징인 스크롤을 내릴 때 컷들이 내려가는 모습을 건물의 매스 및 입면을 통해 표현하고자 했다. 프로그램의 성격에 따라 매스의 볼륨과 입면 디자인을 다르게 해 외부에서도 이를 느낄 수 있도록 했다.

When scrolling down, I tried to express the cut of the webtoon scene going down through the mass and elevation of the building. Depending on the nature of the program, the volume and elevation design of the mass were different so that it could be felt from the outside.
