개념 Concept

팬데믹 발생 이후 기존의 캠퍼스는 전국단위의 이동보다 지역 규모의 이동, 즉 좀 더 작은 규모의 이동을 지향하게 됐다. 예전보다 좁은 물리적 면적으로도 캠퍼스 운영이 가능해졌으며, 이런 변화는 캠퍼스 건물 내 버려지는 공간을 발생시켰다. Campus as refugee 개념은 이런 버려지는 공간을 다른 용도로 사용해 더욱 효율적이고 안전한 환경을 제공하자는 이야기이다.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the existing campus has been oriented toward a regional-scale movement, that is, a smaller-scale movement than a national movement. Campus operation has become possible even with a smaller physical area than before, and this change has resulted in abandoned space in the campus building. The concept of ‘Campus as refugee’ is to provide a more efficient and safe environment by using this abandoned space for other purposes.

프로그램 Program

아래는 위에서 말한 개념을 어떻게 적용할 것인지 표현한 것이다. 지역주민이 캠퍼스에서 이용가능한 프로그램과 빈 공간을 연계해 설계에 반영했으며, 현 건물에서 보존할 것과 아닌 것을 구분해 실질적인 활용가능성을 고려했다.

The figure below expresses how to apply the concept mentioned above. Local residents linked programs available on the campus and empty spaces and reflected them in the design, and considered practical availability by dividing what is to be preserved in the current building and what is not.

대상지 Site

현 복지회관에는 세 가지 문제점이 있는 데, 이는 다음과 같다. 건물 내 프로그램이 유용하지 않아 이용자가 적고, 부지가 남북으로 길게 배치되어 뷰가 제한적이며, 기존 보행동선보다 높은 곳에 위치해 접근성이 떨어진다. 이 세 가지 문제를 최우선 해결 과제로 두고 설계를 진행했다.

There are 3 problems with the welfare hall, the target building of this project, and these are as follows. There are few users because the program in the building is not useful, and the view is limited because the site is arranged in a long way, and the accessibility is inferior because it is located higher than the existing pedestrian path. The design proceeded with these 3 issues as the top priority.

디자인 Design

지역주민들의 접근 방향으로 확장되게 매스 디자인을 진행했다.
Mass design was carried out to expand in the direction of local residents’ approach.

건물의 프로그램을 세개의 축에 따라 배치했다. 매스의 위치에 따라 퍼블릭, 프라이빗, 커머셜의 특성이 반영되었다.
The building’s programs are arranged along three axes. Depending on the location of the mass, the characteristics of public, private, and commercial were reflected.
