대상지 Site
이번 프로젝트의 부지는 해당 부지만 비어있는 용산 전자상가 지역에 있다. 서쪽 부지는 광장으로 사용될 것이고 다른 두 부지는 건물이 계획된 장소다. 부지는 용산 전자상가 건물과 용산역과 연결된 호텔로 둘러싸여 있고, 정확한 장소로 가기 위해서는 호텔에서 다리를 이용해야 한다.
The site is located in the 서울시 용산구 which will be used as a start up center. From those two diagrams, we could know that the site is surrounded by the 용산 electronic mall buildings and the hotel which is connected with the 용산 station. So, to get to the site, people should use the bridge from the hotel.
Our site is in the 용산 electronic mall district where our site is the only one that kept empty. The west site will be used as a plaza and the other two sites are where the building is planned.
A TO B
부지의 특수한 상황때문에 주요개념을 “광장으로의 가는 새로운 길”로 잡았다. 이에 따라 A에서 B로 가는 동선은 중요하다. 평면 상에서는 길이 평탄해 별다를 것 없는 듯 보인다.
the reason of the connected line, A to B in the site plan is because “giving a new way from 용산 to the plaza” is the main concept of the building. The way seems flat in this site plan
그러나, 이는 현실과 같은 3D 상황에서는 사실이 아니다. A 와 B 사이에 수직점 두 개를 더 만들어 광장, 지하철 역, 그리고 이용자들을 연결하는 모양을 형성시켰다.
이런 건물의 형태와 개념을 담아 ‘플레이포켓’이라고 이름을 붙였다. 플레이 포켓은 시각적 및 물리적 연결이 경계의 불확실성을 통해 발생할 수 있다는 의미를 갖는다.
However, when seeing the building in 3d, it is not just a flat connected way.
A to b has two more spots which is a’ and b’ in vertically. Then, it forms a shape connecting the plaza, 용산 station and the users. I named the shape, play pocket
Play pocket has a meaning that the visual and physical connection can be occurred through the uncertainty of the boundary which is always near with. Play pocket’s four part has it’s own property.
플레이포켓은 특성에 따라 4파트로 나뉘는데, 빌딩 A는 파트 1과 2, 광장에 대응하는 파트 3, 그리고 빌딩B는 파트 4다. 아래에서는 각 파트별로 설명할 것이다.
Play pocket is categorized into four parts according to it’s property, and to deliver clearly, I will call the part 1and 2, the building A, and the part 4 as a building B.
Connection: Play Pocket
PART 1: Facing the square
파트 1은 광장을 마주보는 공용공간이다.
정문에서 A 빌딩을 방문하는 사람들은 아래와 같은 씬을 마주하게 된다. 스탠드 도서관에선 사람들이 자유롭게 이야기하고 모이며, 모든 계단에서는 책을 읽거나 일하는 이들을 볼 수 있다. 또한, 스탠드 위에는 다리가 있어 입구에 들어서자마자 바삐 움직이는 사람들의 모습이 한 눈에 들어오게 계획했다.
The part1 is the public part which is facing the square directly.
People who are visiting the building A from the main entrance will face this view. A stand library gives a space for the public to freely talk and gather. From every step, people can read books or work. Above the stand, there goes a bridge, so the movements of the people are shown in the entrance.
1층에선 스탠드 라이브러리와 그 옆의 오픈 오피스, 폐쇄형 회의실 등을 볼 수 있다. 스탠드 도서관은 광장을 마주보고 있어 이용자에게 탁 트인 시야를 제공하고, 동쪽 광장 쪽으로 뻗은 부분은 시장이나 소규모 라이브 이벤트 등의 행사가 진행할 수 있게 디자인했다. 또한, 건물 B는 플리마켓 등의 야외행사를 위한 확장공간을 제공한다.
From the ground floor plan, next to the stand library there is an open office part and closed meeting rooms. Stand Library is facing the plaza so that people who are using the building can have an open sight. There is a stretched part toward the east square that some events can occur in the building A. Having a market or small live events are the examples. The building B also has a stretched out part to open a market which can be an outdoor.
PART 2: Vertical mass connecting two different programs
파트 2는 두 개의 다른 프로그램을 연결하는 수직매스 부분이다.
아래는 5층 브릿지에서 내려다본 샷이다. 이 브릿지는 스탠드 도서관 바로 위로, 3층에서 시작한다. 다리 중간은 넓어서 사람들이 쉽게 모일 수 있고, 계단으로 연결했다. 브릿지 왼편은 주거공간이기 때문에 벽돌로 시야가 반절 가려져 있다. 다리를 건너는 것만으로, 거주자들은 쉽게 일하러 갈 수 있게 했으며. 건물의 꼭대기는 스타트업센터의 근로자 및 거주자들이 언제든지 파티를 할 수 있는 라운지로 계획했다.
Part number 2 in play pocket is a vertical one connecting two different programs.
The view is from the 5th floor’s bridge. In the middle of the bridge is widen to make people gather freely, and the bridges are connected by the stairs. Left side is half covered by the blocks to keep the privacy because it is a living part. Just by crossing the bridge, people who are living here can easily go to work. The top of the building is a lounge that workers and the dwellers can have party anytime.
주거공간은 두 가구가 하나의 욕실을 같이 쓰고, 각자만의 테라스를 가지게 했으며, 여섯 명이 함께 주방, 세탁실, 거실을 공용으로 사용한다. 사무실은 경계선이 없는 형태로, 주거구역과 브릿지를 통해 바로 연결된다.
2 people are sharing one bathroom, but they have their own terrace. 6 people are using kitchen and laundry together and also the living room, too. Office has no boundary to directly connected by the bridge from living.
PART 3: Connect building A and B
파트 3은 건물 A와 B를 연결하는 부분이다.
이 파트는 도면에서 3개의 원형공간이 있는 2층부터 시작한다. 가장 작은 것은 카페, 가운데는 나선형 계단으로 3층까지 연결한다. 사람들은 내부 정원이 있는 계단 주위에 모일 수 있으며, 가장 큰 원형 부분은 강당이다. 강당은 3층과 연결돼, 동쪽에 라운지가 있다. 강당 옆에는 창업센터 이용자들이 자신의 제품이나 물품을 판매하거나 테스트할 수 있는 스튜디오를, 2층에는 용산역과 빌딩B를 잇는 다리를 계획했다.
The part number three is a connecting part from building A to B and B to A.
Part 3 starts from the 2nd floor which has three circular parts in plan. The smallest one is a café and the middle one is a spiral stairs heading to the 3rd floor. People can gather around the stairs which has an inner garden. The largest circular part is an auditorium. It is connected to the 3rd floor, and has a lounge part in the east layer. Next to the auditorium, there is a studio that the start up center users can sell or test their products or items. The second floor has a connected bridge from Yongsan station which is outdoor in Building B.
위의 이미지는 2층 모퉁이 계단에서 보이는 뷰다. 스튜디오의 탁 트인 시야와 파트 3의 톱 모양 지붕을 볼 수있다. 제품 생산자들과 소비자들은 경계 없는 매장에서 교류할 수있다.
This view is from the 2nd floor’s corner stairs. It has a wide open view of the studios. And the saw shape roof of the part 3 is shown in the third floor. Product producers and the consumers are meeting at this place with no boundary of stores.
PART 4: Tower
파트 4는 타워동으로, 건물 상부에 사람들이 모일 수 있는 라운지를 계획했다. 모든 층을 연결하는 나선형 계단이 가운데에 자리하며, 이 층은 루프탑이 있는 유일한 층이다.
아래는 지붕 꼭대기에서 풍경을 바라보는 이미지다. 탑의 벽돌 재질과 톱 모양 지붕의 돌 재질을 직접 느낄 수 있게 해 새로운 질감을 경험할 수 있게 했다.
The part 4 is a tower part. The 4th floor is a lounge part that people from the upper part of the building can gather. It has a spiral stairs in the middle which is connecting all the floors of the building. This floor is the only floor that has a roof top, while the other floors can’t have, because of the saw shaped roof.
This is a view from the roof top. People can directly feel the brick material of the tower and the stone material of the saw shape roof together.
빌딩 B는 5층부터 7층까지 사무실이며, 일부는 경계가 없는 오픈형으로 해 직원들이 선택할 수 있게 했다.
8층은 리빙 파트가 시작하는 층으로, 4개의 방이 한 층에 있고, 부엌과 거실, 두 개의 공유공간이 있다. 사무실의 일부는 일과 후에 일하고 싶은 사람들이 사용할 수 있게 주거층에 배치했다.
B Building is an office from the 5th floor to the seventh floor. Some office parts are open and some are not so that the workers can choose.
The 8th floor is floor that the living part starts. Four rooms are in one floor with two sharing parts, kitchen and living room. And the small area of office is on the same floor that people who wants to live and work at the same time can use.
