개념 – 회복하다
쉘터는 자연 속에서 쉬고 ‘회복(recover)’할 수 있는 장소가 된다. 동시에, 변화하는 형태를 통해 ‘덮개(cover)’ 역할을 하며 사용자를 감싸 안정감을 주는 공간을 제공한다.
Concept – Recover
Shelter becomes a place where people can rest and ‘recover’ in nature. At the same time, by changing its form, the shelter roles as a ‘cover‘ and provides a space that embraces users and makes them feel stable.
Design
Materials
대나무를 주재료로 사용했다. 다른 나무에 비해 가벼우면서도, 다른 재료에 비해 견고하다는 점이 매력적이다.
The main material of this shelter is bamboo. It is attractive that bamboo is lighter than other kinds of trees, but more durable than other materials.
대나무와 목재 틀로 구성된 4개의 서로 다른 판을 연결한 구조로, 각각의 판을 접어 기본형을 완성할 수 있다. 구조적 안정성을 위해, 경첩을 사용하여 지지대를 제작하였다. 전체적인 형태는 나무에 홈을 파서 대각선으로 고정되었다.
It consists of four different panels made up of bamboo and wood frames, each of which can be folded to complete the basic form. To achieve structural stability, supports were created using hinges. The overall shape of the trees was fixed diagonally through hollowing out a groove.
사다리꼴을 뒤집어놓은 형태를 기본으로 한다. 여기서 사각형도, 사다리꼴도 아닌 역사다리꼴 형태가 이 쉘터의 메인이 되는 이유는, 마치 등받이 의자처럼 기울어진 각도의 쉘터 안에서 더욱 편히 기대어 쉴 수 있기 때문이다. 이는 쉘터의 의미를 더욱 강조시켜준다.
It is based on the inverted trapezoidal shape, which is not simply a square or trapezoidal shape. The reason why this shape becomes the main form of this shelter is that the shelter with a tilted angle, like a backrest, makes it easier to lean and relax in it. This further emphasizes the meaning of Shelter.
또한 이 쉘터의 장점은 가변성이다. 판들을 한 방향으로 접어 만든 기본형 외에, 일부 판들을 펼치거나 접어 총 3가지 형태로 활용이 가능하다.
1. 사다리꼴 형태는 자연 속에서 눕거나 기댈 수 있는 공간을 만든다.
2. 사다리꼴이 아닌 좀 더 큰 공간을 형성해야 할 때 삼각형을 사용하여 다른 형태를 만든다.
3. 많은 사람이 사용할 넓은 공간이 필요할 경우 일직선으로 펴서 최대한 많은 사람이 누울 수 있는 최적의 형태로 바꿀 수 있다.
Furthermore, the advantage of this shelter is its variability. The basic shape made by folding the panels in one direction is not all, but a total of three forms can be transformed by folding some and unfolding some.
1. The trapezoidal form creates a place where people can lie down or lean on in nature.
2. When it is necessary to form a larger space rather than the trapezoid, it can create a different shape by using a triangular shape.
3. When a large space is needed for many people to use, it can be straightened and transformed into an optimal form for as many people as possible to lie down.
