‘좋은 유치원이란 무엇인가’로부터 설계를 시작하였다. 주위에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 유치원은 대부분 박스 형태의 비슷비슷한 일률적인 유치원 환경을 제공한다. 주변 환경에 특히 민감할 어린아이들에게 이는 공간 지각 능력을 제한할 수 있다.
아이들이 어렸을 때부터 공간을 다채롭게 경험했으면 좋겠다고 생각해 다채로운 공간의 유치원을 설계하고자 했다. 이를 위한 건축적 해결 방안으로 공간 착시 등을 적용하여 시각적 흥미로움을 주었다.
Design was started from ‘What is a good kindergarten’. Most of the kindergartens that are common around provide a similar and uniform environment in the form of a box. For children who are particularly sensitive to the surrounding environment, this can limit their spatial perception ability.
I wanted children to experience various spaces since they were young.Therefore, I wanted to design a kindergarten that makes space recognizable in a variety of ways. As an architectural solution to this, spatial illusion was applied to give visual interest.
Concept
“시각적 흥미로움을 경험하는 유치원”
아이들이 공간을 더 깊이 느낄 수 있도록 사다리꼴 형태의 공간을 사용했다. 사다리꼴의 넓은 공간과 좁은 공간은 보는 방향에 따라 공간을 시각적으로 다양하게 인지할 수 있게 만든다. 평면 뿐 아니라 단면상에서도 효과를 극대화하기 위해 경사 지붕을 채용했다.
“Kindergarten full of visual interest”
I used trapezium shape for children to feel space more deeply. The large and narrow space of the trapezoid make the space visually diverse according to the viewing direction. I used a pitched roof in order to maximize the effect not only on the plane but also on the cross section.
더불어 야외에서 마음 편하게 놀 수 있는 야외 유원장은 유치원에서 중요하다. 야외 유원장은 안전하면서도 특별한 곳으로 인지했으면 좋겠다고 생각했다. 사다리꼴의 좁은 공간에서 확 트인 야외 유원장으로 진입을 하며 개방감을 극대화하고자 하였다. 아이들이 이러한 극적인 변화를 경험하며 야외 유원장을 특별한 장소로 인식할 것이다.
In addition, outdoor playgrounds where children can comfortably play outdoors are important in kindergartens. I hoped that the outdoor playground would be recognized as a safe and special place. I attempted to maximize the sense of openness when entering an open outdoor playground from a narrow trapezoidal space. Experiencing this dramatic change, children will recognize the outdoor playground as a special place.
Design
도로 쪽으로 열린 사다리꼴 매스의 큰 공간은 입구를 더욱 특별하게 만들며 ‘kiss and ride zone’을 제공한다. 또한, 유원장을 향한 작은 공간은 개방감을 주어 야외 유원장을 특별하게 만든다. 이 매스에는 3세 교실과 4세 교실이 위치한다.
The big space of Trapezium mass open to the road makes entrance more special and this shows ‘kiss and ride zone’. Also, small space toward the playground makes huge openness which makes playground specialty. In this mass, there are a three-year-old classroom and a four-year-old classroom.
5세 아이들은 밖에서 놀고 싶어 할 것이다. 때문에 5세 교실을 이 매스에 넣어 아이들이 놀이터에서 더 자유롭게 놀 수 있도록 하였다. 놀이터는 5세 아이들을 위한 두 번째 야외 교실이 될 수 있다. 이 매스에는 5세 교실과 다목적실, 강당이 있다.
5-year-old children would like to play outside. So I put five-year-old class in this mass to make them play more freely in the playground. The playground can be second outdoor classroom for five-year-old children. In this mass, there are a five-year-old classroom, a multipurpose room, and an auditorium.
