Agenda
어디서든 보이는 북한산, 1950년대부터 존재했던 낮은 집, 보행자 위주의 길을 간직한 불광동은 과거 주민들이 공동체와 커뮤니티를 이루고 살던 언덕 위 마을이다. 이 언덕 마을은 물리적인 높이로 인해 주민들이 필요로 하는 상업, 문화시설, 오픈스페이스가 부족한 상황으로 그로 인해 마을의 공동체 의식은 점점 희미해져 가고 있다. 현재를 사는 주민들에게 이 대지에 존재했던 불광동의 공동체 의식을 회복하는 커뮤니티의 중심지이자 필요한 프로그램을 폐교인 은혜초등학교 부지에 조성하고자 한다.
Bulgwang-dong is a village on a hill where residents formed a community and a community in the past. Due to the lack of commercial, cultural facilities and open space caused by site’s physical height, the village’s sense of community is fading. For residents living in the present, the center of the community and necessary programs to restore the sense of community in Bulgwang-dong, which existed on the site, will be created on the site of closed barricaded Eunhye Elementary School.

Site
대지의 주변은 고층의 아파트 단지와 70,80년도 생겨나 지금까지 저층주거 형식을 유지하는 골목길 기반의 저층주거단지가 주변 컨텍스트의 대다수를 차지하고 있다. 그러나 거의 모든 편의시설은 높은 언덕에서 한참 내려간 위치에 배치되어있다. 고지대에 위치한 특이한 장소는 2001년 개관해 오래되었지만 은평구민들에게 꾸준히 이용되는 은평구립도서관과 마을 뒷산이자 산책로로 반대편 마을과 연결되는 불광근린공원이 있다. 도서관의 경우 공공성이 뛰어나지만 현대적인 도서관의 기능과 프로그램이 부족한 상황이다. 또한 주민들이 모이는 넓은 야외 공간도 존재하지 않는다.
The surroundings are mainly high-rise apartment complexes and alley-based 70s and 80s low-rise housing. However, almost all amenities are located a long way down from the high hill. The unique places located in near the site are public library,opened in 2001 and Bulgwang Neighborhood Park, which isused as promenade connected to the village on the other side. In the case of the library, they have excellent publicity, but they lack the functions and programs of modern libraries. Also there is no wide outdoor space for the residents andpublic.
Design
대상지는 150M의 길이를 가지며 언덕을 따라 배치되어 있으며 최대 15M의 경사가 존재한다. 현재는 폐교인 은혜초등학교가 담장과 쓰이지 않는 건물로 길과 동선의 연결을 단절하고 있다. 따라서 기존 건물 중 가장 중심이 되는 초등학교 본관과 운동장으로 이용되던 오픈스페이스를 제외한 나머지 건물을 철거하고 대지를 정리하며 이를 기준으로 4개의 선형 매스를 조성, 그 사이의 야외 공간을 공공을 위한 ‘파티오’로 이용한다.
The site has a length of 150M, arranged along the hill, and has a maximum slope of 15M. Currently, Eunhye Elementary School, which is closed, cuts off the connection between the road and alley with its non-used buildings and fences. Therefore, except for the main elementary school building and the open space, which was used as the playground, the rest of the buildings are demolished and the land is re-organized. Based on this, four linear masses are created, and the outdoor space between them is used as a ‘patio’ for the public.
Program
서관이 필요로 하는 부가적인 시설들을 파티오 불광이 수용한다. 특히 2개의 파티오는 마켓과 메이킹 파티오로 나뉘어 각각 상업과 문화를 담당한다. 이 프로그램들은 골목길과 건물의 지붕을 이용한 산책로, 오픈스페이스를 연결하는 외부 계단으로 적극적으로 연결되고 상호작용한다.
Patio Bulgwang houses amenities, cultural facilities thatresidents lack, and additional facilities needed by the public library. In particular, the two patios are divided into market and making patios, respectively, in charge of commerce and culture. These programs are actively connected and interacted with alleys, walkways using the roof of buildings, and external stairs connecting open spaces.
